Princeton Swims To Victory At Columbia

New York, N.Y. - Princeton won 13 of 16 events and came away with a 179-116 victory at Columbia in men's swimming and diving action on Friday afternoon. The Tigers improve to 6-2 and wrap up the regular season schedule with Navy at DeNunzio Pool tomorrow.
Ten different Tigers won events for Princeton with Kevin Volz starting things off with his victory in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:19.81). Eric Foster took the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.77), Justin Chiles won the 500-yard freestyle (4:39.90), Nick Kaluk captured the 100-yard freestyle (46.89) and Carl Hessler remained a constant in the winners circle with his victory in the 50-yard freestyle (1:52.57).
Patrick Donahue and Hallett Johnson won the backstroke events with Donahue taking the 100 back (51.14) and Johnson winning the 200 back (1:52.09). Juan Valdivieso won the 100 fly (51.24) and Jesse Gage took the 200 fly (1:53.57).
Jeremy Tillman, the only Tiger to win more than one individual event, captured both the 100 breast (56.94) and 200 breast (2:06.50) while Kent DeMond won the 1-meter board.
Princeton and Navy battle at 1 p.m. this Saturday at DeNunzio Pool.
