Princeton Water Polo Drops Two in California

San Diego, Calif. - The Princeton women's water polo team lost the opening two games of its California trip. In the first match of the day, the Tigers fell to the Bruins of UCLA, currently ranked second in the nation, 16-6. Princeton dropped the second match 9-6 to UC San Diego. Princeton slips to 11-3 on the season.
Adele McCarthy-Beauvais led the Tigers in the match against UC San Diego with three goals. Annie Olsen, Cassie Nichols and Jenny Edwards each had one goal a piece. Princeton entered halftime down, 6-3 and played the UC San Diego to 3-3 in the second half.
"We came out flat," said head coach Luis Nicolao. " We missed the open opportunities." Tomorrow the Tigers will face San Diego State at 10:00 a.m. and UC Irvine at 2:00 p.m.
