Kampersal Named ECAC North Coach of the Year

CAPE COD, MA - Jeff Kampersal led the women's hockey team to a 15-11-3 record, its best record in his six seasons behind the bench, and was named the ECAC North Coach of the Year for his efforts. Aviva Grumet-Morris (Sr., Evanston, IL) was named first-team All-ECAC, while Gretchen Anderson (So., Natick, MA ) received honorable mention honors and Katharine Maglione (Fr., Fayetteville, NY) was an All-Rookie team selection.
Kampersal led a squad that was shorthanded all season to a 10-6 ECAC record and home ice in the first round of the ECAC playoffs. The Tigers received national recognition this season by earning a place in the national polls several times.
Grumet-Morris, a first-team All-Ivy selection, is fourth on the team in scoring, and first among defensemen with a career-high 22 points (5g, 17a). Grumet-Morris anchored the Princeton defense this season was named to the academic All-ECAC squad for the third straight season. Anderson was Princeton's most prolific scorer this season, finishing with 37 points (25g, 12a). She received ECAC all-rookie honors last season.
Maglione, helped to solidify the Tigers defense this season. She recorded seven points (3g, 4a) in 25 games. Her brother Matt is a blueliner for the men's hockey team.
Princeton's season came to a close with two losses to Harvard at Hobey Baker Rink in the first round of the ECAC playoffs.
