Finley smashed a ball to deep centerfield that bounced on and over the yellow banner on top of the fence for her third homerun of the season, moving the score to 4-0.
The Bears' Katie Bissel scored in the bottom of the sixth but that would be all the runs that Mercer would post today.
Sarah Jane White picked up her first victory of the season, striking out four batters and giving up seven hits. Tomorrow marks the first day of the Buzz Classic. The Tigers are schedule to face Ohio State at 3:00 p.m. and Central Florida at 6:00 p.m.
"It was a great overall team effort including two strong performances by Finley and White on the mound," says head coach Maureen Davies. "Things are starting to come together for us, both offensively and defensively, which is a great way to go into this weekend's tournament."
