Men's Track Coach Fred Samara Named NCAA Regional Coach of the Year

Fayetteville, Ark. - For the second consecutive year, head men's track and field coach, Fred Samara has been named the NCAA Regional Coach of the Year. Samara, who is with Tora Harris and Josh McCaughey at the 2002 NCAA indoor championships, was honored last evening at the coaches' meeting and banquette.
"It's a real honor," said coach Samara. "I didn't find out about this until last night and I'm very happy about it. Hopefully it is only the beginning of the good news from Arkansas."
Tora Harris, who set the nation's mark in the high jump earlier this season, will compete in the national finals this afternoon. Josh McCaughey, Heptagonal champion in the 35lbs. weight throw will compete on Saturday, March 9.
