Field Hockey To Host Spring Tournament

PRINCETON, NJ - The Princeton field hockey program will host five of the top teams in the country this Sunday, April 14. Old Dominion, Maryland, Penn State, Boston University and Syracuse will come to town for the 7-Aside tournament, to be held a Class of 1952 Stadium from 11 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Maryland reached the Final Four in 2001, while Old Dominion and Syracuse were also selected to the NCAA tournament. The Tigers were 4-2 against these five teams during the 2001 season.
Princeton won its eighth-straight Ivy League title in 2001, with a perfect 7-0 record against league opponents. The Tigers advanced to the program's fourth NCAA Final Four by knocking off defending national champion Old Dominion 2-1 in the second round. The Tigers lost to eventual national champion Michigan, 4-2 in the semifinals. The Tigers will not graduate any players from the 2001 squad that finished 17-3.
Princeton will travel to Maryland for the Terps' 7-Aside tournament on April 21. That tournament will be held from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and will feature Princeton, Old Dominion, Maryland and Michigan State.
