Princeton to Host Women's Water Polo Eastern Championships

Princeton, N.J. - Princeton will host the 2002 women's water polo Eastern championships in DeNunzio pool from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28. The champion of the eastern tournament earns a berth in the NCAA championships to be held on May 12-13.
Princeton, the no. 3 seed will face Harvard on April 26 at 3:20 p.m. and Bucknell on April 27 at noon. Michigan is the no. 1 seed and Hartwick is the no. 2 seed. The Tigers recently lost to the Wolverines 10-9 in the finals of the Southern championships. Hartwick defeated Princeton, 11-9 in the semifinals of the ECAC championships.
Brown, the no. 4 seed is the defending Eastern champion. The Bears defeated the Tigers in last years' Eastern championship game, 11-10. This season Princeton defeated Brown 11-4 on March 3.
The tournament gets underway when Hartwick takes on UMass at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26.
