Women's Water Polo defeats GW, 11-8 and Bucknell 11-6

Lewisburg, Pa. - Jenny Edwards had a team-high three goals as the Princeton women's water polo squad defeated the Colonials of George Washington, 11-8 in the first match of the CWPA league weekend. In the second match of the day, Princeton defeated Bucknell 11-6 on the strength of Adele McCarthy-Beauvais who registered five goals. With the victories, Princeton improves to 15-7 and wraps up the CWPA season going an undefeated 8-0 for the fourth consecutive year.
Senior captain Cassie Nichols and McCarthy Beauvais each tallied two goals in the Victory over George Washington. Alexis Olle , Kathryn Parolin, Julie Miller and Joanna Armstrong each register one goal. Edwards also had a team-high five steals while Nichols dished out two assists.
In goal for the Tigers was freshman, Madeline McCarthy who had eight saves in the match.
McCarthy-Beauvais tallied five goals as the Tigers defeated the Bison of Bucknell, 11-6. Edwards and Kelly Melia-Teevan each tallied two goals. Olson, Nichols and Miller each netted a goal apiece. McCarthy played the first half in the net for the Tigers and picked up seven saves. Lauren Lister played the second half of the match tallying four saves.
With the two victories, the Tigers remain unbeaten in CWPA league play for the fourth consecutive year. Princeton is currently ranked 15th in the nation and is the three-time defending ECAC champion.
