Adele McCarthy-Beauvais Named to Water Polo's All-America Team

Princeton, N.J. - Adele McCarthy-Beauvais has been named third-team All-America by the American Water Polo Coaches Association. Teammate, Cassie Nichols received an honorable mention. Princeton finished its season, taking fourth place at the Eastern championships and finishing with a 23-11 record.
For McCarthy-Beauvais, this is the third time in her career that she has earned All-America status. She was named second-team for both the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Nichols has received third-team honors in 1999 and 2000.
McCarthy-Beauvais scored nine goals at Easterns, including four against Indiana in the third-place match. She led the Tigers with 83 goals this season. McCarthy-Beauvais was named the MVP of the Eastern tournament a year ago and is currently one of five players nominated for the Peter J. Cutino Women's National Player of the Year award presented by the Olympic Club
Nichols, the senior captain, was also recently named the MVP of the southern division. At the Eastern Championships, Nichols scored eight goals in four games including a three-goal performance in the 11-5 Tiger victory over Bucknell and received first-team honors.
