Box Score
Alex Brown had 17 kills, 10 digs and eight solo blocks to lead the Princeton women's volleyball to a 3-2 comeback win at Harvard Saturday night. The win keeps Princeton one back in the loss column of both Penn and Cornell, the latter of which will battle the Tigers Friday night at Jadwin Gym.
Princeton dropped the opener 30-27 before taking the second game by the same score. Princeton had a terrible offensive performance in the third game but held off Harvard 30-26 in the fourth game. Princeton won the finale 15-9 for its fifth straight victory.
Lauren Grumet added 20 kills, while sophomore setter Jenny Senske had 53 assists. Defense was the key for the Tigers, as Princeton had season bests in digs (100) and team blocks (13). Freshman Jenny McReynolds completed her amazing weekend with 27 digs against the Crimson. One night earlier, she had an amazing 37-dig night. Ashley Weber had 17 digs, while Senske and Grumet had 15 apiece.
Princeton is now 4-1 in the Ivy League. The league appears to have a three-team race going on, with Cornell (6-0) and Penn (5-0) leading the way. The Big Red will travel south to play Princeton Friday and Penn Saturday, so plenty will be learned about the future of the league race next weekend.
