Nov. 17, 2003
Princeton, N.J. - Senior Gretchen Anderson was named both the ECAC Player of the Week and the USCHO.com Offensive Player of the Week following her performance this past weekend against Providence. Anderson had a hat trick as the No. 10 women's hockey team downed the sixth-ranked Friars 4-2. Sophomore Heather Jackson who tallied a shorthanded goal and two assists was named to the league honor roll.
Anderson, a native of Natick, Mass., has been recognized for her play each week of the season. After a four-point weekend at UConn to open the season, she was named to the honor roll, and following four points at Northeastern and Maine, she was named to the honor roll. This weekend marked the first time she received player of the week honors, a feat she accomplished twice last season. This is the first time that she has been honored as the USCHO.com Offensive Player of the Week. Anderson's hat trick on Sunday came from all angles, as she scored a power play goal, an even strength goal and a shorthanded goal. She also scored the game-winning goal for the third time this season.
