Martirosian Earns STX/NFHCA First-Team All-America Honors

Natalie Martirosian, who led the Princeton field hockey team with seven assists in 2003 and helped the Tigers to a 10th straight Ivy League championship, has been named a first-team STX/NFHCA All-America for the second straight season.
Martirosian, also a first-team All Mid-Atlantic regional selection, finished third on the Tigers with 15 points while starting all 18 games. She also was a first-team All-Ivy League choice for the second consecutive year.
Senior co-captain Claire Miller, the Ivy League Player of the Year and a first-team all-league pick, was named a second-team All-America by the NFHCA. Miller, who was a first-team selection as a junior, had six goals and three assists in 2003.
Miller's fellow captain, Cory Picketts, earned first-team All Mid-Atlantic Region accolades, while junior Lizzie Black earned second-team all-region honors after leading the Tigers with eight goals in 2003.
Princeton reached the NCAA tournament for the ninth time in the past 10 seasons in 2003, falling to Penn State 3-1 in the first round in College Park, Md., Nov. 15. The Tigers also extended their Ivy League winning streak to 31 games with a fourth-straight undefeated (7-0) league season.
