Princeton, N.J. - An 11-0 second-half run turned a three-point game into a 14-point Dartmouth lead as the Big Green escaped Jadwin with a 77-61 win over the Princeton women's basketball team. The Tigers shot 42 percent from three-point range and 83 percent from the foul line, but they could not overcome a 32 percent field-goal clip on the night.
Despite making 6-of-25 field goals in the first half, Princeton was within two points at the break, down 28-26. Dartmouth would score the first four points of the second half, but senior Maureen Lane's three-pointer at 18:03 cut the lead to 32-29. The next Princeton score would be free throw by Lane at 16:14, making the score 43-30.
Lane finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Kelly Schaeffer led the Tigers with 22 points. Jean Cullen registered a double-double for Dartmouth. She finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Dartmouth's Katherine Hanks led all scorers with 24 points.
Princeton drops to 8-14 overall and 3-5 in the Ivy League. Dartmouth is now 12-10 overall and 6-3 in the conference. The Tigers take on Harvard tomorrow night. Game time is 7 p.m. from Jadwin Gym.
