Sarah Hayes led three Brown players in double figures with 16 points to lead the Bears to a 68-50 win over Princeton in front of 422 at Jadwin Gym in Ivy League women's basketball Saturday night.
Brown improved to 14-11 overall and 8-4 in the league with the win. Princeton slipped to 9-16, 4-7.
The game marked the final Jadwin Gym appearance for the three seniors on the Princeton team, who were honored in a ceremony before the game. Maureen Lane and Allison Cahill, four year starters for Princeton, were joined in the starting lineup by classmate Kelly Baril, who played only this basketball season after being an All-America goalie in field hockey.
Princeton also honored athletic trainer Cheri Drysdale, who had resuscitated a spectator who had collapsed on the Princeton-Brown game in Providence last month.
Brown led 30-21 at the half and would not trail in the second half. In addition to Hayes, who added nine rebounds, Brown also got 15 points from Tamara Golston and 14 points and seven rebounds from Colleen Kelly.
Princeton was led by freshman Becky Brown, who had a 14-point, eight-rebound night despite being held to 27 minutes by foul trouble. Lane was also in double figures with 13 points.
Princeton shot 15 for 51 from the field and 4 for 17 from three-point range.
The game featured 37 fouls and 42 foul shots.
Princeton finishes its season with road games at Cornell and Columbia next weekend and at Penn March 12.
