Annamarie Holmes Named First-Team All-ECAC

Senior defenseman Annamarie Holmes was one of three Tigers to receive All-ECAC honors today from the ECAC. Holmes, the ECAC's third-leading scorer among defenseman, was named first-team All-ECAC. She is joined on All-ECAC teams by senior forward Andrea Kilbourne, who was named to the second team, and by junior forward Gretchen Anderson, who was named as an honorable mention.
Kilbourne currently ranks second on the Tigers and ninth in the league in overall scoring. Her 13 goals rank fourth in the league and she leads the league in shorthanded points. Anderson is Princeton's leading scorer despite missing the season's first six games. She currently ranks seventh in the league in overall scoring, is sixth in assists and her three game-winning goals in the second-most in the league. In addition, the ECAC announced its All-Academic team, which includes five Tigers. Those named to the team were Holmes, senior forward Nikola Holmes, Kilbourne, sophomore defenseman Katharine Maglione, sophomore defenseman April Brown and junior forward Lisa Rasmussen.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic year; have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale and must have competed in at least one-half of her team's contests during the current season. In all, 65 student-athletes from the league's nine schools were honored.
The Tigers play tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m., against Dartmouth in the second semifinal game of the 2003 JP Morgan Chase ECAC Championship.
