Women's Water Polo Sweeps Games at Villanova Invitational

Villanova, Pa. - The Princeton women's water polo team improved to 12-4 this season with three wins Saturday at the Villanova Invitational. Princeton began the day with an 11-1 win over Salem International, then defeated Villanova 11-5 and closed out the day with a 14-10 win against George Washington. The Tigers complete the weekend tomorrow at 11 a.m., against Bucknell also at Villanova.
Princeton's first opponent on Saturday was Salem International and Princeton duplicated its result of earlier this season by pulling off a win. Princeton scored early and often and cruised to an 11-1 win. Kelly and Wendy each scored three times in the win. Kelly Melia-Teevan paced the Tigers with a goal in each of the first three quarters.

In game two, Princeton facedthe host Wildcats from Villanova and handed them an 11-5 loss. Edwards led the Princeton attack, scoring three goals in the win and Madeline McCarthy made four saves.

Princeton completed the day with a 14-10 win over George Washington. Edwards was once again Princeton's leading scorer as she notched four goals. McCarthy-Beauvais added three goals as well and McCarthy made seven stops.
