Canino And Petrillo Place On Day One At The Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. - Chelo Canino placed fourth in the college women's pole vault championship and Laura Petrillo was third in her steeplechase run at the legendary Penn Relays in Philadelphia on Thursday night.
Canino, Princeton's record holder in the pole vault, registered a mark of 12-05.55 in the championship final. April Steiner of Arkansas won the competition with a height of 14-00.
The 3,000-meter steeplechase race was won by Liz Wort of Duke in 10:49.09. Petrillo's time of 10:54.10 was exactly one second back of second-place Delilah DiCrescenzo of Columbia.
The Penn Relays continue tomorrow with the women's triple jump beginning at 10:00 a.m. Both Princeton's men and women will compete in tomorrow's events.
