No. 6 Cornell Heavyweight Crew Edges Past Princeton

ITHACA, N.Y. - The No. 6 Cornell heavyweight crew topped Princeton by 1.3 seconds at Cayuga Inlet Saturday morning to capture the Carnegie Cup. Princeton won three of the five races, including an impressive performance from the first freshman eight.
Princeton took both freshman races, including the first freshman eight in 5:58.2. The two teams split the second and third varsity races, with Princeton claiming the second varsity race in 5:59.2, .5 of a second in front of Cornell. The Big Red took the big race, though, as it finished the race in 5:50.7, ahead of No. 7 Princeton (5:52.0) and No. 9 Yale (5:55.8).
Princeton will conclude its regular season next weekend on Lake Carnegie when it takes on No. 12 Oregon State and No. 13 Brown.
