Princeton Retains Logg Cup With Four-Second Victory Over Rutgers

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The Princeton heavyweight crew took out Rutgers on the Raritan River Saturday morning to retain possession of the Logg Cup. The first varsity, which won in a time of 6:11.3, was the highlight of a perfect performance by the Tigers, which swept the four races against the Scarlet Knights.
The first varsity eights had the closest competition of the day, winning by four seconds. Princeton sent out the top two boats in the second varsity eights, with its first boat winning in 6:18.4. The Tigers also swept both freshman races, including a strong first freshman performance of 6:13.4, the second-fastest time of any boat during the competition.
Princeton will return to Lake Carnegie next weekend to take on Penn and Columbia.
