PRINCETON, N.J. - The No. 7 Princeton heavyweight crew won two of three races against Brown Saturday morning at Lake Carnegie, but the Bears walked away with the big one and the Content Cup. No. 11 Brown used a strong performance in the varsity eight race to claim the win over Princeton in more than 3.5 seconds.
Princeton finished the race in 6:19.02, well behind Brown's winning time of 6:15.4
Princeton's freshman eight put forth another winning performance, knocking off Brown by 3.6 seconds, and the second varsity eight also had a convincing win over Brown.
The Bears avenge last year's defeat to Princeton, when the Tigers were able to take possession of the Content Cup by more than four seconds.
Princeton is now finished with its regular season. Next up is Eastern Sprints, which will be held in Worcester, Mass. Princeton last won the Worcester Bowl for the Eastern Sprint championship in 1999, when the Tigers topped second-place Brown by 4.89 seconds in the grand final. The Tigers have also taken the title in 1995 and 1997.
