Josh McCaughey Advances At NCAA East Track Regional

Fairfax, Va. - Josh McCaughey advanced to the NCAA Track & Field Championships with a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw at the NCAA East Regional in Fairfax, Va. on Friday night. McCaughey was one of several Tigers to compete on Day One of the Regional.
McCaughey advanced out of the East with a distance of 199-09. Mark Smith, who also competed in the hammer, placed 14th overall with a throw of 182-03. Also in the field events for Princeton, Mike Weishuhn placed 15th in the high jump with a leap of 6-08.
On the track, David Dean ran a 1:50.74 in the 800-meter race to place 16th overall. Jon Bell finished 20th in the 5,000-meter race (14:26.33) and Jon Kieliszak finished 21st in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 3:52.56.
The East Regional concludes on Saturday with Tigers competing in the javalin, shot put, triple jump and 3,000-meter steeplechase.
