Men's Golf Sixth After Two Rounds at the James Madison Invitational

Harrisonburg, Va. - The Princeton men's golf team shot a first-round 294 and a second-round 282 to place sixth through two of three rounds after the first day of the 30th annual JMU Golf Tournament played at the Lakeview Golf Course. The Tigers are eight over par, 14 strokes behind tournament leader, Georgetown. James Madison, Maryland, Towson and Liberty make up positions two through five.
Individually, Jason Gerkon posted Princeton's top score on Day 1, shooting two over in the first round and five under in the second round. He is currently tied for sixth place, six shots behind the leader, Nick Cook of Georgetown. Gerkon's 65 in the second round tied him with Cook for the lowest round of the tournament thus far.
Creighton Page shot one over in the first round and par in the second round and is in a seven-person tie for 16th place. Other Princeton golfers in the tournament are Greg Johnson (75-72-147, t-38th) and John Locke (75-74-149, t-54th).
The tournament concludes tomorrow morning with the third and final round.
