It's Gameday... The Princeton women's hockey team returns to the ice this weekend for the first time in three weeks to face Harvard and Brown in ECAC action.
Last Time Out... The Tigers swept Colgate and Cornell the second weekend in January to improve their ECAC record to 4-3. Sophomore Heather Jackson scored midway through the third period to lift Princeton to a 2-1 win at Colgate, while freshman Dina McCumber led all Tigers with two points in a 4-2 win at Cornell the following afternoon.
Princeton vs. Harvard... The Crimson is currently 13-1-1 on the season and enters the weekend off its first loss of the season, a 2-1 loss at home to Dartmouth on Jan. 11. Harvard has swept through the rest of its schedule earning wins against ranked opponents, New Hampshire, Providence and Minnesota-Duluth. Through 15 games, Harvard has only allowed 12 goals. The Series with the Crimson... Princeton is 23-28-1 all-time against Harvard, including a 12-12-1 record at home. Last year, Harvard took both games from Princeton, winning 5-2 in Princeton and 4-1 in Cambridge. Harvard has won five straight decisions in the series.
Princeton vs. Brown... The Bears are 8-5-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the ECAC this season. Brown enters the weekend off of a road split at St. Lawrence two weeks ago. The loss to the Saints snapped a seven-game unbeaten streak that dated back to November. Brown's tie with Dartmouth on Jan. 10 is the only blemish on the Big Green's otherwise perfect ECAC record.
The Series with the Bears... Princeton is 24-21-1 all-time against Brown, and is 13-9-0 at Baker Rink. A season ago, Princeton took both meetings from Brown with senior Gretchen Anderson tallying the game-winners in a 2-1 triumph at home and a 5-2 win on the road.
Working Out the Rust... Princeton has only played two games since the middle of December. Princeton swept Findlay on the road on Dec. 13 and 14 and then was off until a sweep of Colgate and Cornell on Jan. 10 and 11. During that span, the Tigers visited Europe where they saw the sights and played in exhibition games.
