PRINCETON, N.J. - If freshman Meir Hasbani was nervous about his first H-Y-P, he certainly didn't show it. The Wilmette, Ill., native won his third event of the weekend Saturday to lead Princeton to wins over both Harvard and Yale. Three other Tigers, including repeat winner Justin Chiles, earned individual wins for the Tigers.
Princeton defeated Harvard 192-161 and Yale 272-79. Harvard defeated Yale 245-106.
Hasbani earned Princeton's first win of Saturday's session, taking the 400 IM in 3:56.13. The Tigers owned the race, taking the top three spots. Pat Grenman placed second in 3:58.95, and Tim Ruse placed third in 3:59.76.
The following race saw another 1-2 Princeton finish, as Chiles took the 100 free in 45.05, followed closely by teammate Mike Salerno, who finished in 45.16.
Harvard won the next two events, but Tiger senior Juan Valdivieso made sure that momentum wouldn't help bring the Crimson back all the way. He took the 500 free in 4:29.23, while Chiles placed third in the event. Junior Evan Delaney followed up with a win in the 200 back (2:01.85), knocking off one of Harvard's top swimmers, Rassan Grant, in the event.
To close the meet, Princeton won the 400 free medley in 2:58.99.
Princeton will swim at home next week against Kenyon and Navy.
