HANOVER, N.H. - Following the magical Friday night that put the Princeton women's volleyball team back into the Ivy League race, senior Alex Brown made sure there would be no letdown Saturday.
Brown recorded 27 kills and hit .568 to lead the Tigers to a 3-2 win at Dartmouth Saturday evening. The win improves Princeton to 9-4 overall and puts the Tigers in position to clinch a share of the league crown Wednesday night at Dillon Gym against Penn.
Princeton took the opening game 30-26 before falling 30-25 in the second game. The Tigers bounced back with a 30-20 win in the third game, but once again it allowed Dartmouth back into it with a 30-25 loss. With no margin for error, the Tigers pulled out a 15-7 win to clinch the match.
Outside hitters Lauren Loban and Lauren Grumet combined for 29 kills, while five different Tigers recorded at least 14 digs, led by Jenny McReynolds' 25 digs. Jenny Senske paced the offense with 59 assists.
As many as four teams can end the league season with a 10-4 record, which would set up a playoff for the Ivy League's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Check back with GoPrincetonTigers.com prior to Wednesday's match for more details.
