Princeton, N.J. - Junior goaltender Roxanne Gaudiel was named the ECAC Hockey League's Women's Goaltender of the Week following her performance in goal for the Tigers last weekend at Providence.
On Saturday, she stopped 27 of 31 Providence shots to earn a 4-4 tie and on Sunday she held the Friars to just one goal on 23 shots in the 4-1 win. Princeton's performance against Providence earned the Tigers the No. 8 ranking in the latest USCHO.com poll and knocked the Friars out of the top 10.
The award was Gaudiel's first Goaltender of the Week Award. As a freshman, she received Rookie of the Week honors one time.
Sophomore forward Kim Pearce, who scored all four Princeton goals in Saturday's tie, was named the league's weekly honor roll.
No. 8 Princeton opens up the ECAC Hockey League portion of its schedule this Friday night when it meets No. 2 Dartmouth at 7 p.m. Princeton then hosts Vermont on Saturday at 4 p.m.
