Final Stats
The Princeton women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to Cornell Saturday night to fall short of the NCAA tournament. The Tigers, who claimed their 13th Ivy League title in the sport on Wednesday night, were eliminated from the Ivy League playoff by a Cornell team that swept Princeton in a trio of matches.
The Tigers, who didn't match up well against the taller Big Red squad, claimed a share of the league title by defeating Penn 3-0 Wednesday night. Princeton advanced to this weekend's four-team tournament with Yale, Cornell and Harvard, with all four teams seeking the league's automatic bid to the NCAAs. After Yale won a 3-2 thriller over Harvard, Cornell swept the Tigers to set up a Yale-Cornell showdown in the final.
Princeton fell 30-25, 30-22, 30-26 to end the season with a 19-8 record.
Seniors Alex Brown and Ashley Weber both ended up with a team-high 12 kills, while libero Jenny McReynolds had 29 assists.
Princeton will return four starters next season: outside hitter Lauren Grumet, setter Jenny Senske, middle blocker Brittany Wood and McReynolds. Grumet and McReynolds both earned All-Ivy honors.
