Women's Water Polo Defeats Villanova 15-5

Princeton, N.J. - Sophomore Courtney Mee and freshman Karina Reyner each scored three goals to lead the Princeton women's water polo team past visiting Villanova, 15-5. The Tigers lost the first sprint but came out strong once they gained possession, surging to a 7-1 first quarter lead.
Seven different players scored first-quarter goals as Princeton went 3 for 3 on its 6-on-5 opportunities. Madeline McCarthy started in goal for the first time this season, after sitting out the opening tournament with an injury. She had one save, one steal and one assist in the first quarter.
Princeton outscored Villanova 3-1 in the second quarter and 4-2 in the third before finishing the game with the 15-5 win. Freshman Shannon DeVore made six saves in goal during the last three quarters. Junior Kathryn Parolin and freshmen Jessica Ajoux and Jazmin Brown chipped in two goals apiece.
