Men's Tennis Defeats GW, Stony Brook, Stays Unbeaten at Home

The Princeton men's tennis stayed unbeaten at home and won its third and fourth straight matches overall with 5-2 defeats of George Washington and Stony Brook at the Jadwin tennis courts Saturday.
The Tigers improved to 5-4 overall on the season with the victories.
Against GW, Princeton swept the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead, getting an 8-1 victory by Tim Kofol and Sratha Saengsuwarn at No. 2. The Tigers then won the Nos. 3-6 singles matches in straight sets. Saengsuwarn, at No. 4, Hans Plukas, at No. 5 and Blaise Goswami, playing his first singles match of the year at No. 6, lost a total of six games combined in their three matches. Plukas defeated Brett Warner by a 6-0 score in the second set. Later in the day, Princeton won its fourth straight match with a 5-2 win against Stony Brook. The Tigers won the doubles point thanks to close wins at Nos. 2 and 3 and an 8-0 shutout by Dan Friedman and Darius Craton at No. 1. In singles, Goswami won again at No. 6, 7-6 and 6-4 over James Carpenter, and Plukas and Kofol won at Nos. 3 and 4 respectively. Saengsuwarn completed an excellent all-around day with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Michael Crooks at No. 2 singles.
Princeton has next weekend off before beginning their spring trip to California with a match at national-power Pepperdine on Sun., March 14.
