PRINCETON - Ten different Princeton swimmers won individual races as the men's swimming and diving completed a perfect home dual meet season with a 170-122 victory over Navy Saturday afternoon at Denunzio Pool. Princeton won't be back home until it hosts the EISL championships during the first weekend of March.
Princeton opened the meet with a team victory, taking the 200 medley relay in 1:34.10. The 'A' team barely nipped the 'B' team, as the second-place Tiger squad came in at 1:34.57.
From there, the team won through its depth of individual talent. The senior leader, Juan Valdivieso, opened the run with a win in the 1000 free. His time of 9:28.18 topped teammate Ryan McCabe's time of 9:30.29. A 1-2 finish followed in the next race, as Justin Chiles won the 200 free in 1:42.39, beating Mike Salerno's time of 1:42.86. Princeton would show even greater dominance in two other races, finishing with the top four swimmers in the 200 fly and the 200 back. Brian Shue (1:50.58) and Tim Ruse (1:51.87) were the leaders in the fly, while Kevin Weiner (1:52.26) and Ryan Becker (1:53.69) were 1-2 in the back.
Princeton took three of the 100-meter races. Alan Fishman (52.45) won the back, Jake Fay (59.59) won the breast and Ryan Rimmele (50.44) took the fly. Will Reinhardt took the 50 free in 21.03, while Alan Ebersole took the 200 breast in 2:10.60 and Meir Hasbani won the 500 free in 4:41.36.
Navy was led by the meet's lone double winner, Kevin Teague, who won both diving events.
Princeton will swim at Army next weekend, its final competition before the league championships.
