Women's Hockey Ends Season With Overtime Loss at Brown

Providence, R.I. - Brown rallied from a 2-0 third-period deficit to defeat the Princeton women's hockey team 3-2 in overtime in the second game of the ECAC Quarterfinals Saturday afternoon at Meehan Auditorium. Senior Lisa Rasmussen scored both Tiger goals as Princeton completed its second 20-win season.
After a quiet start Princeton put itself on the board 9:32 into the first period. Rasmussen knocked in The goal was knocked in after a series of blocked shots to give the Tigers a 1-0 advantage headed into the first intermission. The goal was assisted by senior Gretchen Anderson.
Both teams went scoreless in the second, but the Bears controlled the puck the majority of the period, out-shooting the Tigers 17-11.
Princeton went ahead 2-0 at 5:42 mark in the third when Rasmussen scored her second of the game. Anderson and sophomore Heather Jackson assisted on the tally. Princeton looked to be in good shape, but Brown surged back to score two goals in a two-minute span to bring the game to a 2-2 deadlock.
At 11:58, Margaret Ramsay netted Brown's first goal off a rebounded shot by junior Katie Guay and at 13:16 Amy McLaughlin set up junior Jessica Link in front of the goal.
Tied at two at the end of the third period, the game went to sudden-death overtime and Brown was the first to score as Link redirected a McLaughlin shot at 8:56.
Princeton completed the season at 20-11-0, reaching the 20-win mark for the second consecutive season and only the second time in the program's history.
