Water Polo Splits On Day Two In San Diego

San Diego, Calif. - Elyse Colgan scored eight goals in two games as the Princeton women's water polo team defeated Pacific 13-7 and lost to UCLA 10-9 on its second day in San Diego.
In the first game, Princeton was tied with UCLA 2-2 after the first quarter when Jazmin Brown drew a four meter, which Colgan scored on, and also added one goal herself. Colgan and Megan Donahue each scored in the second and third quarters while Jessica Hartkins, Danielle Carlson and Donahue chipped in goals in the fourth.
Donahue finished with three steals and Brown drew four four meters while Madeline McCarthy made five saves in three quarters in the goal. The Tigers went 2 for 7 on their 6 on 5 opportunities.
Colgan then scored five goals and Brown won three sprints and added four goals against Pacific. McCarthy had five saves and one steal in three quarters before Lauren Lister replaced her for one save in the fourth. Princeton went 4 for 4 on its man-ups.
Princeton plays San Diego State on Sunday, March 14 at 4 p.m.
