Conway, S.C. - The Princeton men's track team competed at the Coastal Carolina Invitational his weekend in Conway, S.C. Princeton did well in the event, winning six total events in the meet.
Mike Kopp posted Princeton's first win in the 400 meter dash. He led a parade of four Tigers to the line as Dan Saltzman, Justin Reed and Brian Shields completed the top four. Princeton placed two runners in the top three in the 110 meter hurdles. Ray Lenihan was second in the race and James Raftery was third.
Jeff Key had another top five finish for Princeton as he finished third in the 400 meter hurdles. Chas Ballew placed second in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
The Tigers won the two relays placing first in the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay.
In the field events, Princeton's Mike Weinshuhn won the high jump and Tim Edmond placed first in the long jump. Princeton also placed four runners in the top five in the triple jump with Marcus Ford-Bey leading the group in second. Rocky Craley placed second in the shot put, Tyler Bengsten was third in the discus and Mark Smith and Ken Stirnger finished one-two in the hammer throw.
