Women's Water Polo Wins Two At Inter-Regionals

Princeton, N.J. - Megan Donahue had six goals and five steals in an 11-8 win over Bucknell at the Inter-Regional Competition at DeNunzio Pool. Princeton also defeated Maryland 12-1 when eight different Tigers scored.
Karina Reyner led all scorers with three goals and three assists against Maryland. Anne-Lise Maag and Jazmin Brown each scored two goals in the first quarter for an early 4-0 Princeton lead. Reyner had three and Kelly Melia-Teevan and Samantha Shaughnessy added one each in the second quarter for a 9-0 Princeton lead at the half. Maryland scored its only goal in the third, when Courtney Mee, Kathyrn Parolin and J.J. Rue also scored. Princeton led 12-1 after three and didn't score again.
Melia-Teevan, Elyse Colgan and Reyner had three steals apiece. Madeline McCarthy had one save in the first quarter, Shannon DeVore had two in the second and third quarters and Lauren Lister played in goal in the fourth.
Against Bucknell, Donahue had two steals and scored two counter-attack goals in the first quarter, as Princeton tied the Bisons 2-2 after one. Donahue and Colgan each scored three goals in the second and third quarters.
Princeton led by two in the third before Bucknell scored and came within one to enter the fourth. But Brown had two steals in the fourth and Donahue scored another goal, helping Princeton to the 11-8 win.
The Tigers went 3 for 4 on their man-up opportunities against Bucknell and McCarthy had two saves in four quarters.
