Women's Hockey Visits Brown/Harvard With Home Ice in Mind

Princeton, N.J. - The Princeton women's hockey team visits Brown and Harvard this weekend for the final games of the 2003-04 ECAC regular season. The Tigers currently sit fifth in the league standing but can climb to fourth and earn home ice in the first round of the playoffs with a successful weekend on the road.
Notes.
-Princeton is now 19-7 overall and 11-5 in the league following its loss to Yale and a weekend split with Mercyhurst.
-Sunday's win snapped a two-game skid for the Tigers, who now stand just one win away from 20, a mark the Tigers reached for the first time last season.
-The Tigers have two regular season games remaining as Princeton visits Brown and Harvard next weekend.
-The Tigers currently sit fifth in the ECAC standings and will need wins and help to climb into fourth and the final home-ice playoff spot. Earlier this season Princeton defeated Harvard 6-3 and fell to Brown 3-1, both at home.
-Princeton is 24-22-1 all time against Brown and is 11-11-1 in games played in Providence. Princeton swept Brown a season ago, but fell to the Bears earlier this season. -The Tigers are 24-28-1 all time against Harvard and are 9-15-0 in Cambridge. Harvard had won five straight in the series before Princeton beat them in January.
-Senior Gretchen Anderson tallied Princeton's lone goal against Yale. It was her 27th goal of the year and her fourth against Yale. In fact, she is the only Tiger to score against the Bulldogs this season.
-After posting one goal all season long, senior Angela Gooldy scored goals in both of Princeton's game against Mercyhurst this weekend. On Saturday she scored on a blast from the point to even the score at one in the first period, while on Sunday she scored on a point shot to give Princeton a 1-0 lead it would not relinquish. She also tallied an assist in Sunday's game.
-Freshman Laura Watt was had a hand in three goals in Princeton's weekend, scoring in Saturday's loss and setting up two goals in Sunday's win, including the game-winning power play tally. Watt was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week for her performance.
-Senior goaltender Megan Van Beusekom made 40 saves to post her second shutout of the season Sunday afternoon against Mercyhurst.
