Anderson, Van Beusekom Named First-Team All-Ivy

Princeton, N.J. - Today the Ivy League announced its 2003-04 women's hockey awards and several members of the Princeton women's hockey team received recognition from the league. Seniors Gretchen Anderson and Megan Van Beusekom were both named first-team All-Ivy, while freshman Kim Pearce took home the league's Rookie of the Year honors.
Pearce scored 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) and was named ECAC Rookie of the Week three times during her freshman season. The Ottawa native had seven points in Ivy play, and was instrumental in handing Harvard a loss when she scored two goals and an assist in the 6-3 victory. She is Princeton's fourth Ivy League Rookie of the Year and the first since Kathy Issel took the honors in 1992.
Representing the Tigers on the All-Ivy team are Anderson and Van Beusekom. Anderson was one of only two unanimous selections to the team and is Princeton's leading scorer for Princeton with 48 points (30g 18a). Anderson is a Patty Kazmaier Award finalist is among the top three in the League in points and goal scoring. She is also among the top 10 in the country in points and goals per game. Van Beusekom is a three-time All-Ivy first team selection. She is among the top 10 in the nation in GAA with 1.87 and has a save percentage of .929. She recorded a season high of 40 saves twice this season against Harvard and Mercyhurst.
Senior Angela Gooldy was named second-team All-Ivy and sophomore Heather Jackson was an honorable mention.
