Water Polo Wins First-Round Game At Easterns

Lewisburg, Pa. - Elyse Colgan scored four goals to lead the women's water polo team past Villanova 12-4 for the fourth time this season to advance to the second round of the Eastern Championships at Bucknell.
Colgan had two of her goals and Jazmin Brown won the sprint and added a goal for a 4-3 Princeton lead in the first quarter. Jessica Ajoux also scored once in the first and finished with three goals for the game.
Brown scored two second-quarter goals as Princeton opened up a 7-4 lead at the half. The Tigers dominated in the third, scoring five and shutting out the Wildcats for a 12-4 game entering the fourth. Kathryn Parolin and J.J. Ryu chipped in a goal apiece in the third.
Madeline McCarthy had three saves and one assist in the first three quarters before Shannon DeVore finished the game in goal. Kelly Melia-Teevan had four steals and Brown had a team-team three assists.
The Tigers face Brown tomorrow, April 24 at 12 p.m. with the winner advancing to semifinal game.
