Lewisburg, Pa. - Elyse Colgan scored both goals in Princeton's 6-2 loss to Harvard in its final game of the Eastern Championships at Bucknell. The Tigers defeated Bucknell 9-4 last night before falling to the Crimson today and finishing the tournament in sixth place.
Against Bucknell, Jazmin Brown sparked the Tigers by winning the first- and second-quarter sprints. Megan Donahue scored two first-half goals and Anne-Lise Maag, Anne Olson and Jessica Hartkins each added one for a 5-0 Princeton lead at the break.
Brown won the third-quarter sprint and Colgan scored twice in the third to enter the final quarter ahead 7-3. Kathryn Parolin and Jessica Ryu chipped in goals in the fourth. Madeline McCarthy had seven saves in the first three quarters before Shannon DeVore relieved her in the final period.
The win over Bucknell put the Tigers in the fifth-place game with Harvard, which Princeton defeated 8-2 in its first game of the season. Colgan scored once in the first quarter but the Tigers did not score again until the fourth, when Colgan put in her second goal of the game.
Donahue finished with four steals, Olson had two, and McCarthy had two saves in all four quarters.
