Heavyweight Crew Raced Moved To Orchard Beach; Directions Here

The Princeton heavyweight crew will race for the historic Childs Cup, 125 years after it was first raced for, on Saturday at Orchard Beach in Pelham, N.Y. The site has been moved from Harlem, and the time of racing has been moved up to 3:00.
Princeton is 3-1 this season, including a home win over Rutgers last weekent at Lake Carnegie. The Tigers were ranked No. 3 in the preseason national polls.
The Tigers will be looking for their 37th Childs Cup, as well as their 11th in a row.

Directions to launching site at Glen Island
From South via GW Bridge:
George Washington Bridge to Cross Bronx Expressway. Follow signs for the Bruckner Expressway North towards New England. Go through the Bruckner interchange to I-95. Take the City Island/Orchard Beach exit. Follow over bridge through the stop light. Go to the traffic circle and proceed _ around traffic circle to Shore Road North. Follow Shore road approximately 2.5 miles to Weyman Road. Take a right at this light and follow signs to Glen Island Park. Go over bridge onto Glen Island and park trailers in the first lot to the right near the castle.
From New Haven and North:
Take I95 to exit 15 (Pelham / New Rochelle / Route 1). Turn left on to Route 1 towards New Rochelle. At Home Depot, turn right on to Weyman Avenue. Follow Weyman across Pelham road towards Glen Island. Go over the bridge and bear right into the parking lot near the castle.

Follow Pelham road approximately two miles to a roundabout. Go _ around the roundabout and follow signs to Orchard Beach. Go approximately _ mile and bear left towards Orchard Beach. Please park in the large lot and walk to the finish area. DO NOT PARK ALONG THE GUARDRAIL. YOU WILL BE TICKETED BY PARK POLICE.
