Men's Tennis Improves to 2-0 In Ivy Play with 5-2 Win over Yale

The Princeton men's tennis team improved to 2-0 in Ivy League play and 9-7 overall with a 5-2 victory over Yale at the Lenz Tennis Center Friday afternoon.
The Tigers' No. 1 doubles team of Dan Friedman and Darius Craton got off to a big lead early and held on for an 8-6 win over Yale's Ryan Murphy and Rowan Reynolds, while Princeton's No. 2 and 3 teams won easily to help the Tigers clinch the doubles point.
Princeton won at the top three singles positions. Craton lost just two games in a straight-set victory over Murphy at No. 1, while Friedman survived a first-set tiebreak to defeat Yale's Andrew Rosenfeld 6-4 in the second set. At No. 3, Sratha Saengsuwarn lost the second set 7-5 to Brandon Wai but came back strong in the deciding third set, winning 6-2.
Tim Kofol was Princeton's other singles winner, coming back from one set down to defeat David Goldman at No. 6, 4-6, 6-3 and 6-1.
The Tigers host 44th-ranked Brown Saturday afternoon at the Lenz Tennis Center beginning at noon.
