Men's Golf Closes Fall Season Fourth at Hoya Invitational

Leesburg, Va. - The Princeton men's golf team shot a three-over par 291 in the final round to finish in a tie for fourth at the Hoya Invitational at the Landsdowne Resort & Golf Club. Jason Gerken led the Princeton finishers with a fifth-place finish.
The tournament caps Princeton's fall season and the team will resume competitive play when the spring season kicks off in March.
Eastern Michigan shot a two-over par 290 in the final round and held off a late charge from a pair of teams to win tournament for the second-straigh year. Maryland and Marquette were second and third while the Tigers tied with Eastern Carolina for fourth. The two teams were nine strokes behind EMU and 11 over par.
Princeton's top finish came from Jason Gerken who led the Tigers individually in all five events this fall. He was part of a three-way tie for fifth in the final rundown at one under. He shot a round of par on Saturday and followed that up with a round of one-under today. He was four strokes behind EMU's Graham Hill who was five under for the tournament.
