Columbus, Ohio - Four Tigers scored goals as the ninth-ranked Princeton women's hockey team defeated No. 10 Ohio State 4-1 on Friday night at the OSU Ice Arena. Princeton improved to 3-1-1 with the win and completes its series with the Buckeyes tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
Sophomore Brittany Salmon opened the scoring for Princeton with the only goals scored in the game's first two periods. The power-play goal came midway through the first period and senior Heather Jackson tallied her first of two assists on the goal.
From that point Princeton goaltender Roxanne Gaudiel and Ohio State netminder Erika Vanderveer held both team's offenses in check as the score remained 1-0 through two periods.
Princeton freshman Annie Greenwood made the score 2-0 at the 5:46 mark of the third period. Her goal, the eventual game-winner, also came on the power play and was assisted by juniors Dina McCumber and Laura Watt.
Ohio State's Jana Harrigan made the score 2-1 on a shorthanded goal midway through the period, but two late Tiger goals sealed the 4-1 win for Princeton. Freshman Katherine Dineen scored her first goal to make the score 3-1 and Watt added the final goal to make the score 4-1.
