Princeton, N.J. - The ninth-ranked Princeton women's hockey completes its run of six games away from home to start its season this weekend when it visits No. 10 Ohio State. The trip marks Princeton's first trip west of Pennsylvania since the Tigers visited the Buckeyes in December of 2001.
A link to a broadcast to Friday night's game can be found on the women's hockey schedule page. Gametracker live stats will also be available for both games.
Princeton (2-1-1, 1-1 ECACHL) opened ECAC Hockey League play last weekend on the road at Dartmouth and Harvard. The Tigers outshot both teams and played well, but could manage only a split as they downed Dartmouth, but lost at Harvard.
Friday's win at Dartmouth was Princeton's first at Thompson Arena since the 2001-02 season. Three Tigers scored in the win, led by senior Tarah Clark's shorthanded game winner. Sophomore Marykate Oakley and freshman Annie Greenwood also scored in the win.
On Saturday Princeton scored the team's first and last goals, but Harvard scored the middle three goals to take a 3-2 win despite being outshot 32-21. Senior Sarah Butsch and junior Dina McCumber each had a goal and an assist in the loss.
Greenwood's goal at Dartmouth and freshman Christine Foster's assist at Harvard were the first collegiate points for each player.
Princeton is 2-3 all-time against Ohio State and is 0-2 in games played in Columbus. The team's last played in a two-game series in December of 2002 at Baker Rink. Each team won a game in that series as each posted shutouts. Princeton won the first night 1-0, but Ohio State took the second game 4-0. Ohio State enters the weekend 5-4-1 overall and 3-4-1 in WCHA play. The Buckeyes started the year with four-straight wins, but have gone 1-4-1 in their last six games. In their last game the Buckeyes knocked off fourth-ranked Minnesota 2-1 in overtime in Minneapolis.
Princeton kicks off a 10-game homestand next weekend when Clarkson and top-ranked St. Lawrence visit Baker Rink. Princeton's next game away from home is on Jan. 6 at Yale.
