Final Stats
PHILADELPHIA - The Princeton women's volleyball team concluded its 2005 season with a three-match win streak, which ended with Wednesday night's 3-1 win over Penn at the Palestra. Princeton ends its season 17-8, 8-6 in the Ivy League and sends out its trio of seniors as winners.
Princeton took the opening game 30-20, but fell 30-21 in the second game. The final two games were hard-fought, but the Tigers pulled out 30-24 and 30-26 victories to clinch the match. The win was Princeton's third straight, and it sent seniors Jenny Senske, Lauren Grumet and Brittany Wood out as winners.
Senkse paced the offense with 50 assists, while Grumet recorded 12 kills, second most on the team. Wood had six kills and two blocks in the win, which put Princeton alone in fourth place in the league.
While Princeton will say goodbye to three of its leaders, the Tigers know they have three years to look forward to with its talented Class of 2009. The current crop of freshmen are led by Parker Henritze, a favorite to win Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors. Henritze led Princeton with a double-double of 18 kills and 11 digs. Middle blocker Lindsay Ensign added 11 kills and four blocks.
