NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The Princeton men's swimming and diving team took to the road Sunday and came away with an impressive 169-131 road win at Big East rival Rutgers. Three Tiger swimmers won double events, including freshman Robert Griest, who claimed both distance free events.
Princeton got off to a good start when it took the 200 medley relay in 1:34.26 and Griest claimed the 1000 free in 9:26.82. Following a Rutgers win in the 200 free, Mike Zee (51.32) and Alan Fishman (51.95) went 1-2 in the 100 back.
Meir Hasbani continued the winning ways shortly thereafter by finishing ahead of three teammates, including second-place finisher Brian Shue, to win the 200 butterfly in 1:51.13.
Zee came back later in the meet to win the 200 back in 1:51.97, once again topping teammate Fishman by less than one second, and Griest added a double of his own by winning the 500 free.
Ryan Becker topped Will Schaffer and Travis Knop to win the 100 butterfly in 50.91, and Kent DeMond built on his Friday wins against Penn and Cornell by taking the 1-meter diving competition in 296.25.
Hasbani gave Princeton its third double-winner of the day by taking the 400 IM in 4:04.25.
Princeton will next compete at the Brown Invitational during the first weekend of December.
