Princeton, N.J. - Princeton women's hockey freshman Marykate Oakley was honored as the ECAC Hockey League's Rookie of the Week yesterday following a six-point weekend as the Tigers swept Union. Oakley becomes Princeton's first Rookie of the Week this season.
Oakley recorded three goals and three assists over the weekend. She now has nine points on the season and was a +6 in the two games. Her six points led all ECACHL rookies in scoring last weekend.
Oakley became the fourth Tiger to earn a weekly award and the first freshman. Junior Roxanne Gaudiel is a two-time Goalternder of the Week (Nov. 2 and Jan. 31), and sophomore Dina McCumber (Jan. 31) and junior Sarah Butsch (Feb. 15) have earned Player of the Week.
Junior Tarah Clark, who had five points in the two games, was named to the league's honor roll.
Princeton completed the regular season at 16-8-5 following the weekend sweep and will visit Yale in this weekend's best-of-three ECACHL quarterfinal series.
