No. 43 Harvard Defeats Princeton in Men's Tennis, 6-1

After coming from behind at No. 2 doubles to earn the doubles point, 43rd-ranked Harvard won five singles matches in straight sets on the way to a 6-1 win over Princeton in a men's tennis match played at the Lenz Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.
Josh Burman and Sratha Saengsuwarn led 7-4 at No. 2 doubles with Princeton having won at No. 1 in a tiebreak and Harvard having won 8-5 at No. 3, but Ashwin Kumar and Brandon Chiu came back and won in a tiebreak to give Harvard the doubles point.
Princeton fell to 13-7 overall and 2-3 in Ivy League play. The Tigers got a win at No. 5 singles, where Andrew Lieu, who had also helped Princeton win at No. 1 doubles, defeated Brandon Chiu 6-4 and 6-2.
Both Hans Plukas, at No. 4, and David Gopstein, at No. 6, played tough in singles but fell in straight sets. Shantanu Dhaka defeated Plukas, 6-4 and 7-5, while Gideon Valkin won by the identical scores over Gopstein at No. 6.
Princeton finishes its regular season next weekend when it plays Columbia and Cornell.
