CAMDEN, N.J. - The Princeton women's lightweight crew avenged a loss at the Windermere Championships by topping Wisconsin, along with a field of some of the top women's lightweight crews, to defend the Knecht Cup on Cooper River. The Tigers will hope for a similar result on Cooper when the Tigers compete for the IRA national title in more than a month.
Princeton, which had the fastest heat time heading into the final, finished in 6:46.7, 1.4 seconds faster than 2004 national champion Wisconsin. Radcliffe finished third.
The win for the varsity eight highlighted a perfect day for Princeton on Cooper River. The Tigers also won the novice lightweight 8 and the varsity lightweight 4. The lightweight 4 'B' boat also earned a win in its own petite final.
