Princeton, N.J. - The 2006 Princeton Women's Water Polo schedule was recently announced by Princeton head coach Luis Nicolao. The Princeton women set a program record for wins in a season last year as they claimed the Southern Championship. Princeton will look to build upon that success in the spring of 2006.
The Tigers will host two events at DeNunzio Pool during the season. First, the annual Princeton Invitational a week into the season on Feb. 18-19, and then Princeton will play to defend it Southern Championship on April 22-23 late in the season.
Princeton opens the season on Feb. 11-12 at the Maryland Invitational before hosting the Princeton Invitational the following weekend. From then, Princeton will then play all of its games away from home until the Southern Championships aproximately two months later.
The Tigers will make the trip to Maryland three separate times during the campaign: for the season-opening tournament, for the ECAC Tournament April 1-2, and for a pair of CWPA games against Maryland and Bucknell.
The Tigers will make their annual Spring Break trip to California again in 2006, facing the likes of Santa Clara, UC Santa Cruz, San Jose State, Stanford and Cal, among others.
Princeton returns east for the ECAC Championships at Maryland in early April and closes up its CWPA season before hosting the Southern Championships. The season concludes with the Eastern Championships at Brown and the NCAA Championships at UC Davis.
