Diana Matheson and Rochelle Willis, teammates on Princeton's 2004 NCAA tournament Final Four women's soccer team, will be in opposing uniforms Sunday night for the W-League championship game.
Matheson's team, the Ottawa Fury, and Willis' team, the New Jersey Wildcats, meet Sunday night (7) at Mercer County Community College in the title game.
The Fury advanced with a 2-1 win over the Florida Krush in Friday's semifinal. The winning goal came on a perfect assist from Matheson in the second overtime.
The Wildcats then defeated Vancouver, also 2-1, in the other semifinal after allowing a goal 38 seconds into the game. Willis, who graduated this past spring, is a defender for the Wildcats.
Matheson was a first-team All-America and the Ivy League Rookie of the Year as a freshman last year, when Princeton went 19-3 and advanced to the Final Four. Matheson is also a member of the Canadian National Team.
Matheson and Emily Behncke will be Princeton's co-captains this season, which begins Sept. 2 at Miami's tournament against UCLA.
